    We are currently seeking a Psychology Services Director/Mental Health Director for the Columbia Correctional Institution in Lake City, Florida.


    • Coordinate site mental health services by provision of administrative support and patient monitoring
    • Develop, implement and evaluate mental health services, including intake process, assessments, individual follow-up, psychoeducational treatment, group therapy, crisis intervention, and services for segregated patients
    • Plan, supervise, assign and manage the clinical responsibilities provided by mental health staff to ensure that facility needs for clinical and consultative services are met
    • Coordinate the supervision of unlicensed mental health staff
    • Supervise clerical support staff to ensure patient medical records and department files are maintained appropriately and as required by policy
    • Respond to mental health emergencies and participate with staff in resolving the emergency
    • Ensure provision of clinical evaluations as required by the client’s administrative staff or other appropriate agencies
    • Develop system that provides 24-hour mental health consultation services to institutional staff that require assistance with immediate crisis intervention for patients
    • Assist in staff selection and recruitment as requested and coordinate orientation for new staff
    • Provide staff counseling and performance evaluations including applicable documentation under the direction of the Regional Office
    • Provide in-service opportunities to mental health staff to ensure compliance with in-service requirements
    • Assist Company administration in ensuring staff credentialing, personnel, health and safety, and training files are updated as required
    • Provide direct clinical services for patients and on call mental health services as required
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in monitoring and treatment of patients requiring mental health services and in the development of individualized mental health treatment plans
    • Identify and maintain professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship
    • Proactive in performance improvement activities as demonstrated by participating in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) program (peer review; record reviews; membership on the CQI committee) and modifying clinical practices based on CQI recommendations
    • Acquire and maintain current clinical knowledge and skills and professional standards
    • Ensure compliance with all facility and Company policies, Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA
    • Coordinate care closely with security staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship
    • Maintain an ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment
