    We are currently accepting applicants for a full-time (40 hours per week) Psychiatrist at Zephyrhills Correctional Institution in Zephyrhills, Florida. Zephyrhills is 29 miles north of Tampa.

    Position Overview

    Oversees psychiatric services (both inpatient and outpatient services) and providers within this correctional institution.   This position will also provide clinical services, psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and treatment for incarcerated offenders and provides clinical leadership for a multidisciplinary team in providing mental health services to offenders with psychiatric disorders or other mental health issues.

    Documentation of education as MD or DO and completion of accredited residency program required


    Current license to practice medicine in applicable state required


    Board certification or board eligible for certification in psychiatry if required by assigned contract


    Must have an active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration certificate


    Must receive approval of Centurion Credentialing Review Committee if review requested


    Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification


    Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable


    Minimum of two (2) years of experience practicing as psychiatrist in a clinical setting preferred


    Experience in correctional mental health care preferred
