    We are currently seeking a Staff Development Coordinator at Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.  This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week.   


    The Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating and tracking orientation, annual training and competency requirements for Company staff, based on training and accreditation requirements.  


    Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

    • Assesses the training needs of staff through interview, survey, and observation to provide an objective framework for course planning
    • Evaluates the effectiveness of trainings through the use of post-tests, observation and feedback forms
    • Manages the competency process for new and existing staff in coordination with disciplinary chiefs
    • Manages the data collection/aggregation of staff training records
    • Provides educational resources to staff to meet accreditation training requirements
    • Attends all required Safety Training programs and able to describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of NM
    • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse
    • Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification where applicable
    • Must be able to pass a background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable
    • Training experience, knowledge of accreditation requirements, and healthcare competencies preferred
    • Good communication and organizational skills, professional phone etiquette, and accurate typing skills
    • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
