    We are currently seeking a PRN Payroll Clerk at our Regional Office in Baltimore, MD with the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. This position will range from 20-40 hours per week with the potential to grow to a fulltime position. The Payroll Clerk compiles payroll data according to company policy and in accordance with government regulations and applicable tax codes, assists in coordinating all payroll related activities in the processing of employee hours to include problem resolution, process improvement, records management, and customer service.


    Essential Duties:

    •  Compiles, prepares and inputs payroll data using Kronos Timekeeping to produce accurate and timely payrolls
    •  Screens employee time card punches for consistency, accuracy of employee hours worked, and employee time off
    •  Requests and submits documentation regarding timekeeping and/or leave records according to established guidelines, rules   and regulations
    •  Assists with staff termination process and Bio scan on-boarding education process
    •  Assists with compiling various finance audit reports
    •  Work with regional administrative staff to provide Kronos support
    •  Assists in collecting and distributing applicable new hire paperwork to corporate office
    •  Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
    •  Prepares reporting as requested
    •  Performs general clerical duties to include data entry
    •  Other duties as assigned


    • Associates degree from an accredited program; Bachelor's degree preferred
    • Three (3) years related work experience required
    • Proficiency with automated payroll and Kronos tracking systems
    • Knowledge of all policies and procedures necessary to complete essential duties
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
    • Working knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
    • Experience with Ultipro a plus
