    In anticipation of a new initiative, we have an opportunity for full time Bachelors Level Mental Health Professionals for day and evening shifts. The successful candidate will provide group therapy to inmates in our segregation units at the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. To be considered, applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in one of the Social Sciences (or related field), cognitive behavior therapy experience and/or training as well as prior experience facilitating group therapy. 

     

    Some essential duties: 

    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members in the development/review of individualized mental health treatment plans and in the monitoring and treatment of inmates as indicated on the treatment plans.
    • Provide care and activities programming to offender population in assigned area. Assist offenders in defining goals to achieve personal, social, educational and/or vocational development.
    • Ensure that medical staff are alerted of any offender medical, dental or physical restrictions or needs.
    • Attend required staff meetings, safety training and in-service programs as required.
    • Ensure compliance with all facility and MHM policies, and Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA and PREA.
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s level degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field from an accredited educational institution required.
    • Must show current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification.
    • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance where applicable.
    • Minimum of one (1) year experience with direct care for individuals with mental illness preferred.
    • Experience facilitating group therapy required.
    • Experience in a correctional environment preferred.
