    Centurion is proud to be the provider of forensic mental health services to the Massachusetts Trial Courts. 


    We are currently seeking a full-time Psychologist to join our team covering the District Courts in New Bedford, Fall River, and Wareham, Massachusetts.

    Available Shift




    The Psychologist provides psychological leadership, consultation and direct services for patients in an assigned facility. The District Court Psychologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team consisting of lawyers, social workers, judges, and other court and hospital staff to provide assessment, treatment, and determination of appropriate dispositions for individuals who are mentally ill or have substance use issues and are brought before the Courts on criminal and/or civil matters.


    District Court Psychologists, or Designated Forensic Professionals, are responsible for fulfilling the statutory obligations of the Department of Mental Health under MGL c. 123 which include, but are not limited to:


    • Evaluation of the need for Emergency Hospitalization (C.123, s.12e)
    • Competence to Stand Trial or Criminal Responsibility Screening Evaluations (c.123, s.15a)
    • Evaluation of the need for Hospitalization of Mentally-Ill Prisoners (c. 123, s.18a)
    • Determination of the Mental Condition of Witnesses (c.123, s.19)
    • Evaluation of the need for Commitment of Substance Abusers (c.123, s.35)
    • Aid in Sentencing Evaluations (c.123, s. 15e)
