    We are currently seeking a Physical Therapist to work 32 hours per week and travel to Parchman. The hours and days of the week worked can be flexible to meet your needs!


    The PT will team with the Physicans and Mid level providers.  The Physical Therapist will provide treatment in both In-patient and Out-Patient settings.  The Physical Therapist is responsible to provide licensed physical therapy services to referred patients, provide patient assessments, and develop treatment goals and plans. The Physical Therapist is also responsible to implement the appropriate treatment program utilizing a variety of physical therapy procedures.


    Some of the main duties of this position include:

    • Identifies and develops offender treatment plan by assessing and interpreting evaluations, and test results in conjunction with physician or based on the physician order
    • Administers physical therapy treatment including but not limited to development of offender self care plans, applying physical agents, using approved modalities; educates healthcare staff about follow-up and monitoring of self care plans
    • Recommends and educates offenders about use of assistive and support devices including canes, walkers, braces.
    • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to develop, implement, evaluate, and revise individualized treatment plans including continuity of care when physical therapy services are required. Communicates with team members individually, at team meetings and with written documentation as needed
    • Ensures compliance with all facility and MPCH policies, and Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA

    • Graduation from an accredited program of physical therapy
    • Current Physical Therapy license in MS or ability to obtain one, will consider newly licensed PTs
    • Experience in outpatient and inpatient settings
    • Must be able to pass background investigation and obtain agency security clearance
