    MHM Solutions, in our exclusive partnership with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, provides medical professional staffing service

    to the Bureau of Autism in Harrisburg, PA.   MHM solutions currently has an opportunity for a:  


    Communication Professional for the Deaf

    M-F 8am-4pm 7.5 hours per day


    This position is to support effective provision of Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) services to deaf individuals and to oversee and implement the requirements of the class-action lawsuit Harry M v. Department of Public Welfare Settlement Agreement. The employee in this position serves as ODP’s subject matter expert in matters relating to deafness and the needs of deaf individuals who may include a diagnosis of autism, ID and MH.  The employee ensures that all Harry M class members receive communication assessments and that the recommendations from such assessments are included with specificity in class members’ Individual Support Plans (ISP). 


    Additional responsiblities include:

    Provides consultation to ODP service providers regarding interpretation of the Harry M settlement requirements, application and implementation of ODP policies related to settlement requirements, and best practices in serving individuals who are deaf. 


     Reviews, evaluates, and approves/denies requests for enhanced fee-schedule and/or residential rates from ODP service providers based on whether the providers possess the necessary qualifications and staffing to support the requests.

    • Proficiency in American Sign Language at or above Intermediate Plus Level as measure
    • Knowledge of Deaf Culture 
    • Experience with Intellectual Disability d by Sign Language Proficiency Interview
