    We are seeking 1 full-time Senior Medical Economist to work with us in the Office of Medical Assistance Program (OMAP) under the Department of Human Service 37.5/hours/week in Harrisburg, PA. Provide medical data with a good working knowledge of inpatient and outpatient medical industry operations or claims analysis to identify trends in health care usage, patterns of use of services and comparision analysis of usage among populations based upon health care diagnosis. Provide program reporting including quality management data, data collection, review and reports.

      

    Skills:

    • Ability to work effectively with Fiscal and program analyses; cost benefits analyses.
    • Extract and analyze large data sets and cost trend analysis to support business decisions to support healthcare initiatives.
    • Work effectively as both a team member and independently.
    • Demonstrate strong skills in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL knowledge
    • Preference to BASE SAS programming experience (Commonwealth program), and Tableau software.
    • Medical Data extraction from data warehouse experience. (COGNOS)
    • Follow established HIPAA confidentiality guidelines at all times; Maintain confidentiality of Medicare/Medicaid patient information.
    • Demonstrate proficient data ETL skills.
    • Use MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to analyze data and present reports.
    • Present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
    • Ability to balance work successfully between multiple projects and responsibilities.
    • Work closely with Quality and Program managers

    Qualifications

    Preferred Experience:

    Master's degree; or Bachelor's with 3+ years in medical fiscal analysis

    Excellent skills working with MS Office software, in particular Excel and Access

    Proficient in the use of One Note and Sharepoint

    SQL proficient

    Proficiency in BASE SAS (or SAS Enterprise Guide)

    Experience working in the medical industry with fiscal analyses
